How I Help Clients Step Into the Leader They’re Meant to Be
She thought she might quit.
A powerhouse senior leader—she was starting to feel stuck. Self-doubt was creeping in. She had built an incredible career but wondered if she’d reached the end.
Here’s what we did to help her move from quitting to feeling energized and leading on her terms.
1: Evaluated the Current Ecosystem
We started with a deep dive into her current work and life—because even though we try to separate them, we are whole beings. Everything is connected.
We explored:
- What was working?
- What was draining her?
- What stories was she telling herself?
2: Noticed the Patterns
We identified the patterns (thoughts, beliefs, actions) holding her back:
- Procrastinating on tough conversations
- Hesitating to share her thoughts & ideas
- Doubting herself
- Avoiding providing direct feedback
- Feeling drained by certain activities and people
3: Defined Her Values & Strengths
We identified her values:
- Her core values—what truly matters to her and assessed where she is now and what 10/10 would look like
- Defined her strengths—not just what she’s good at, but what really lights her up
4: Identified Her Personas
We explored the different parts of her:
- The version of her at work
- The one who shows up with the safest closest people
- The ones forgotten about or put to the side
After understanding these parts, she had conscious choice over which parts to bring to the party and when.
5: Used the Enneagram for Deeper Awareness
The Enneagram helped her:
- See her core motivations and blind spots
- See her strengths
- Recognize sources of tension
With the increased awareness she was able to become more intentional with how she showed up in life and work.
6: Defined Her Unique Leadership Style
Using everything we uncovered—values, strengths, personas, and Enneagram insights—she defined her unique leadership brand:
“Executing in Partnership.”
This was a lightbulb moment for her.
She could finally own her way of leading.
7: Created a Vision
Next we created a detailed living breathing vision.
This wasn’t just about achieving goals and having “stuff”.
It was about how she wanted to feel, her relationships, and the impact she wanted to have.
8: Set Aligned Goals and Made A Plan
With a clear and aligned vision, creating goals and a plan was easy.
She already knew how to get things done, she had a proven track record.
This was about making the goals and plan align with who she is and what she really wanted.
9: Challenged Limiting Beliefs
Throughout the process she had many beliefs that didn’t serve her.
We lovingly invited them and questioned them to see what else might be true and possible.
What else might be true? What else might be possible?
The Result?
She’s crystal clear on what she wants—and is actively taking steps to get there.
